I went to my doctor for a follow-up on some tests he ran.
He said my cholesterol and triglyceride levels were "horrible". In fact, they were worse than the other 1000+ patients he has :-/
Some of it is genetics. I'd have to eat a pound of lard a day to have levels this high. So, in addition to changing my diet (which is good, since we eat WAY TOO MUCH crap in this house) I've been put on Lipitor. Unfortunately, Lipitor costs $125 with my insurance, so I've put a call into his office to see if he can prescribe me something similar that's less costly.
My thyroid levels are pretty low, so I'm going on a thyroid medicine as well. And Niacin and Vitamin D, too.
The vitamin D is supposed to help with the fibromyalgia, so here's hoping. The Niacin and thyroid medication will not only help with the cholesterol problem, but my energy levels should go up.
I'm a walking pharmacopoeia. And the "tinglies" or flushing that will happen with the Niacin will making me feel as if I'm doing energy work, lol.
