Gratitude project 2008 and more

I'm late, but this post will explain why...
The Gratitude Project was begun several years ago by [livejournal.com profile] estaratshirai and continued by many of my friends. The rules are simple. Every day between Lammas and Mabon one must find something to be grateful for in life. No repeats - one can be grateful to people more than once, but it has be for different reasons.

Day 1: I'm grateful that I was able to pack more books and not hurt myself. If I take it easy, I'll get the packing done. I just have to pace myself.

Day 2: I'm extremely grateful that Navarre seems to be better socialized than I thought. He got along very well with Tracy's 3 boys (including Brandon, who is 17 and TALL). He especially liked Tracy's youngest son, Sean, who's 7. Sean took an immediate liking to Navarre and they became best buds. Navarre also got along very well with Tracy's Rottweiler Roxie, even tolerating her constant nudging. He's a good boy. :D He set his boundaries, and if Roxie crossed them, he gave her a warning but there were no real problems. He got a bit territorial about Tracy's yard, but it's nice to know that my "vicious" pit bull can play with larger dogs and smaller kids and be completely OK with it all.

Isabeau was on constant mole duty. Tracy's yard has a ton of moles, and Isabeau tracked them all over. They caught a couple, too...nice snack for the raw fed pups. I've never seen Navarre so tired...he's not used to romping constantly, he's really a house dog. Oh,
Sean and Navarre - best buds:

Day 3: I'm grateful to have been able to visit with Tracy, Joe's brother Eric and [livejournal.com profile] victrola58. It'll be much longer between visits to NY after the move. But, I'll get there at some point. And there's always our normal internet/phone connection.

Day 4: I'm grateful to my friend April, for giving me some good ideas to suggest for my NYC PPD ritual leader position. And, that Navarre also tolerated April's old male basset hound humping him as a dominance display. Yet another good dog gratitude moment, lol.

Day 5: I'm grateful to be home and waking up in my own bed. Visiting is nice, but I rarely sleep well and my digestion gets off. Now, if only Xena could have waited a bit before waking me at 6:30 to be fed.

Yay for good puppy news! That's got to be a huge relief!

What is it about you and I that we tend to move around the same time? Should all go well with getting our house sold, we should be out of Philly by December at the latest. Which, fine, isn't the same exact time, but still. Didn't this happen last time too?

Yes, I believe it did. You moved to PA around the same time I did.

Where are you off to now?

(I've not kept up on journals as well as I should....)

Goodness woman, with all the crap you've got going on this year, keeping up with the journals of people you don't really know shouldn't be a concern -- nor should anyone expect it to be. (Well, okay not not really know, but not really know well. Our circles continually touch, but that's about it, mostly, and that's cool enough for me.)

We're off to Eugene, OR, after much propaganda work on [livejournal.com profile] erl_queen's part. Assuming the house sells. And, uh, I can't *believe* what the realtor is starting the price at with this dump. But, still.

I hope your life settles down soon for you, though.
