Wow...it's crazy around here.

A friend came over for the weekend, and we had a wonderful time chatting and hanging out. He also helped me dig up the yard and get the rock garden started.
I took my Kia to the dealership for a recall fix on Friday, and asked them to look at the power steering which was leaking. It was going to take nearly $1000 to fix, so I decided that I'd rather get another car than fix Ripley. She not only needed an entire power steering system, but she also needs a brake line replaced, and sooner or later, Liana was going to burn out the clutch...so that would be another $1000 or so. Since I'm having issues pressing the clutch when my legs go out anyway, it was time to bite the bullet and get an automatic. Will and I took a look around and I ended up buying a 2001 Grand Caravan that very day.
I have to liquidate my IRA to do it, but...I LOVE this thing. It is LOADED. I mean bells and whistles galore. And comfortable. So I'm back to being a minivan-driving mom...but it's cherry-red and I'm going to put some vinyl black skull stickers and turn it into the goth-momobile. :D
I listed the Kia on Craigslist and within 15 minutes I had 10 phone calls and nearly 20 emails. I have someone coming to see it in a few minutes, and if he has $1000 in hand...it's his.
Whew.
