Learning a new skill
Mar. 21st, 2010 08:00 amWill has been teaching digital photography. While I think I have a pretty decent eye, there is so much to learn. So much technical stuff that I don't really understand yet. F-stop, aperture, ISO, etc. I confess, I really don't have a clue what I'm doing, but it's fun to try and take shots that at least look nice. I'm mostly working on using ambient light, since lighting confuses the hell out of me. As a model, I know how to use the light to my advantage but as a photographer...ummm....
I may or may not ever become a studio photographer. If I ever get to the point where I understand the mechanics of lighting and know how to create a scene, maybe. But right now, I'm enjoying learning how to just take pictures. I even get some good ones, lol.
I uploaded some from our recent trip to Nashville and the Birmingham Botanical Gardens to my Flikr page if anyone's interested in looking.
